WHAT WE FUND
We are seeking to support projects with the aim of advancing digital rights through policy advocacy, public campaigns, applied research and litigation.
- Freedom of expression
- Access to knowledge
HOW OUR FUNDING WORKS
Selected organizations will receive financial support up to USD 75,000, for an average period of 12 to 18 months, with possibilities for extension. Additionally, we offer consultancies and services to support capacity building that is relevant for accepted applications.
We will do two to three open calls between 2019 and 2021, which will be advertised through our website, blog and social networks. The Steering Committee including Avina, Luminate and the Open Society Foundations, will review all preselected submissions. After that, a advisory council will prioritize submissions to select finalists.
Outside of the open calls, we may solicit targeted applications to respond to evolving priority areas
The different phases of the open call process allow us to select the projects with the greatest potential for impact and transformation.
Proposals can be submitted for consideration through the online application form “indela.fund”.
After all proposals are reviewed, a preliminary selection of 50 eligible projects will be made.
The steering committee will review the remaining proposals and shortlist projects for further consideration.
The Advisory Council will then review the submissions and ranks them according to need and opportunity for impact.
Winning projects are selected according to the funding available, and their connection with Indela’s goals.
