Lucia Abelenda is the responsible for the Technology  for Social Change team at Fundación Avina, where since 2013 she works in Latin America with a focus on data, technology and open government. Within the framework of this work, the Alliance for Civic Technology (ALTEC) focuses on promoting mobility and citizen participation through the use of technology. In the development of this work she has also contributed to the creation of regional reference spaces such as AbreLatam and ConDatos. Previously, she worked as a consultant in science and technology for organizations such as FLACSO, ECLAC. She led digital literacy programs and use of technology with the organization Servicios a la Juventud and SEDESOL (Mexico). She has a degree in Sociology from the Universidad de Católica del Uruguay. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), headquarters in Mexico. She is currently studying her doctoral studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
